A Funny Anecdote

I know, I know... it's not like me to post more than once a day. You'll catch up.

I remembered something today that cracked me up this past weekend and thought I'd share it. Maybe it's not so funny when you weren't there, but I think it's good to laugh at myself from time to time.

I joined my parents and sister and her boyfriend for dinner this past weekend. I saw that the restaurant had my absolute favorite dessert that evening. (They only have 2 desserts each day, and it changes from day to day.) I told the waiter when I ordered my meal to make sure they don't sell out because I wanted some.

He kind of leaned back and was like, "Wow! You're serious about your desserts. I'll make sure we have some because you might hurt me if we don't!"

Smart man.

Later, we got several pieces of said dessert to share among us (ok, who am I kidding? I didn't share my piece). Sister's boyfriend said he liked it, but that his favorite dessert is the chocolate molten at Chili's.

"Oh my gosh, I know! I can eat a whole one by myself!"

Our waiter happened to be passing by and overheard this little exchange. He burst into laughter, which caused all of us at the table to crack up, too.

I'm serious about my desserts. Serious.

One of my favorite memories is going to Ruby Tuesday's and eating their huge chocolate cake (it used to come in a huge glass cup/jar/mug) with my best friend. The waiter put it on the table, and by the time he came back to check on us, we were done eating it. He was impressed.
