This LOLCat was too cute to pass up today.
Is anyone else as glad as I am that today is Friday? A lot of my weekend plans are still up in the air as to what exactly I'll be doing, but I think it's going to be a good one.
I'm digging the new Jason Mraz song "I'm Your's." They really don't play it that often, but everytime it comes on I crank up my speakers. I might just have to download it.
I'm also really excited today about getting my partner in the Preppy Summer Swap. I'll be exchanging fun summery gifts in a few weeks with the lovely lady over at The Bona Fide Preppy Bride. I have a few good ideas up my sleeve so I'm excited!
I always take a little time off after I run any race, but I had full intentions of getting back to it this week. I went to the gym once. I ran a few miles and did an abs workout that at the time didn't seem that difficult. I still hurt everytime I laugh now. Not to mention, my quads are sore. I didn't realize that quads get covered in a core workout, but oh they did this week! I'm determined to do a long run this weekend and maybe hit up a yoga class so that I can get back in my groove. I need to keep a solid base so I can start building to a marathon again, and I'd like to not have a pudgey tummy when I don my bikini at the beach next month.
Today I stopped by my parents' house to grab the muffin I had left there (background: we ate at Mimi's cafe last night to celebrate a family friend's birthday and they have terrific muffins). I thought I had turned off the alarm, but I must have missed a button because it went off. I walked to the back and found my sister sitting up in bed hissing, "You scared me to death!" I thought she looked pretty alive to me. I only felt a little bad... it was almost noon. Ah, the life and sleeping patterns of college kids.
I also grabbed a quick margarita (or 2) with a couple of girls last night. Oh, how I love summer! I also ran into a guy I went to high school with.. and middle school and elementary school. It's probably been about 8 years since we'd seen each other, but once he said his name I remembered him (points for me!). I was also glad that my appearance has improved since middle school when I had glasses and braces and both a haircut and figure that made me look like a boy (more points for me!). It was kind of fun catching up and remembering that we sat beside each other in 8th grade science. Before I left he handed me his number on a napkin. It was a kind gesture and not really that strange since I knew him, but at the same time it was kind of funny... I've never had a guy give me their number on a napkin before. It's usually the other way around (except for the napkin part... I don't think I've ever written my number on one before).
It's been a pretty random week for me, but also one of the best weeks I've had in a while. Don't get me wrong.. my life has been great. But it's always really nice when it's the beginning of summer and it's almost your birthday and lots of fun things keep happening. So yay!
Have a happy weekend, and don't forget to post a question on the May 7th post to enter my 25th birthday giveaway. Cheers to the horizon of another terrific weekend!
