I'm a Total Sell-Out

I've refused to join the skinny jean train for as long as skinny jeans have been popular. (A year now? Two? I don't even know anymore.)

It's not that I don't think it's a cute look. I see girls rocking their skinny jeans and ballet flats and think they look cute all. the. time.

But moi? I may be a small size and all, but I'm a runner. This means I have calves. And thighs. And a butt. And skinny jeans? I don't really think they go with runner legs.

However, it was seeing girls in skinny jeans and boots that made me curious. It was a look that I wondered if I could rock. Since I have like 3 pairs of boots, I thought it might not hurt to try on a few pair and see if I can make it happen.

Honestly? I'm not very trendy. I'm definitely not hipster. I have a very classy look when it comes to my wardrobe. I like expensive clothes (although I NEVER pay much for anything I own... I rock clearance sales with extra percentages off and coupons and walk out of stores with tons of clothes for pennies. Some women pay $3.00 for groceries for a week. I pay $3.00 for a sweater from The Limited.). Skinny jeans just don't seem to fit in with my usual style.

But then I tried on a pair of skinny jeans at American Eagle, mostly on a whim because I haven't bought anything in there in like 10 years.

I bought them, and then I tried them on at home with all 3 pairs of boots.

I think I can make it work, as long as I wear the right kind of shirt.

I hope so anyways.

You can TOTALLY make it work. I'm a major pear shape with HIPS BUTT THIGHS and I rock skinny jeans and boots quite often! Never done the skinny jeans and flats though!

Way to step out and try something new! I am still holding out on the trend b/c of the butt and thighs, and I don't wear longer baby-doll shirts b/c I think they make me look pregnant!

I'm sure they look cute! I love skinny jeans with boots. I don't do them with flats because I don't think it looks right on me.

Yeah I dont think i could wear those skinny jeans plus I have stopped buying things at American eagle cause the clothes seem so cheaply made there. Hopefully the jeans work for you!

I am pretty anti skinny jeans for myself also!! But, if I had some cute boots that would look good over skinny jeans, then I too probably would jump on the band wagon!! I definitely don't like the skinny jeans and flats though!

I have been trying to find the perfect pair of skinny jeans for my runner's body, but I have yet to find them. I will need to try AE and see if I can't find the perfect pair.

Now I want to see a picture! I bet you look cute! I broke down and bought them a few months ago and they are now my favorite jeans! Who knew!

I got some, too!! Haha! I found some at Old Navy for $15 and decided to give 'em a whirl. I love them because they have a lot of stretch, so I don't feel like a giant sausage :)

ooh! i was wondering what the verdict would be!

what really should have happened is that i should have found you a super cute long-ish plaid shirt to go with them. i'm picturing it now. it's totally working for you ;)

Ha, I was totally with you on NEVER buying a pair of skinny jeans. But I have to admit that lately I've been wanting some. You are right calf muscles being a problem. I tried on a pair at the mall that I could not even get over my calfs!!! I thought it was so funny because it looked like they would actually fit in the butt... if I could get them past my calfs! Ohwell. Glad I don't have stick legs anyways!

Relaxed fit for me. But then again, I am not a girl :)

I bought some skinny jeans on our trip to Europe and I am definitely not a skinny legged girl, but I love them. Especially with my three pairs of boots.

I usually wear them with my boots if I wear them, but sometimes I even think, good lord these are tight. Alas, meh! now i just don't care :)
