Help?

Ok, so you'd think that since I'm a marathon runner I'd have a nice toned tummy, right?

You'd think wrong.

I have the little love handles, and I definitely have a pooch in the front.

I have not always had this.

I know I'm a woman, and we naturally keep some belly fat as our body's natural prep for growing a kid in there. I don't need it for that right now, so I'd like to get rid of it.

I know the basics... trim the sugar and fat from the diet, get plenty of exercise, blah blah blah.

To those of you our there with firm tummies: PLEASE tell me what you do. I'm going to want to try it.

Thanks!

I second the vote for P90X. If you don't want to fork out the cash for it, you can just google the Ab Ripper videos (I have found them for free on youtube). Only 15 minutes a couple of times a week...insane results. I promise.

Diet, Diet, Diet. Most of it boils down to what you eat. You already know the deal: limit the sugar and carbs, don't overeat, etc, etc, etc... Seems simple, doesn't it? But shoot, it's hard to put into practice sometimes.

Another thought: Ever think of lifting weights, heavy weight? That can really help boost your metabolism and build lean tissue.

swim. I started swimming a few months ago and it toned me all over. Plus no sweat, so bonus!

If you have fat on your belly, only diet would take care of it. If you don't and just want your abs to get stronger, swimming, sit ups, pilates, all would do the trick. But if there is fat on top of the muscles, exercise alone won't do it.
