As if running a marathon doesn't stand as an accomplishment in and of itself. It totally does.
I'm registered for the Flying Monkey Marathon in November. (Also known as the marathon run through the hilliest park in Nashville... and when I mention hills, I mean mountains.)
I'm registered for the Disney Marathon in January. (Oh, and the half marathon the day before.)
What I'm contemplating is the Huntsville Marathon in December. I've done it twice, so I'm certain of what I'd be getting myself into. It's a great little race with good swag, and it's not too far of a drive.
I'm just not sure if the Maniac status is worth the risk. I'm not totally positive how my body would like 3 marathons in 3 months, but I guess maybe that's the point.
I can wait and decide once I'm further into my training. I could probably even wait until I run the Monkey and see how I feel then. My issue is that if I sign up now, it's $50. Later? Not $50. And we all know I don't like to pay more than bottom dollar for a race.
We shall see.... but it's definitely on my mind.

I have thought about becoming a Maniac as well but haven't taken the plunge. I think I qualify for the Gold or Platinum level, I haven't checked in awhile.
If you decide to try it, good luck and have fun doing it. I still need Alabama . . . hmmmmmm . . . Huntsville . . . maybe next year. :)
Do it :-)
Amy and I will run with you again...
I think you should go for it! That would be awesome :)
i say go for it... but thats me... and i had plans to go maniac this year too.... which hit a big halt recently... hmm
Go for it;I did it this past Spring and came through it no worse for the wear. I even BQ'd at the first marathon and then treated the next two as training runs.
