Do you ever hear a song and feel like the songwriter somehow managed to get inside your head and your heart and take the thoughts and feelings you have at one time felt about something or someone specific and somehow put it all into the words that you could never find to describe it all?
Yeah. Me, too.
From Christina Perri's Jar of Hearts...
"And who do you think you are?
Running 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are?"
Or maybe it's that I had the words but was never bold enough to say them?
"You lost the love I loved the most..."
Not me. Or yes, me.
But it didn't take me long to realize it was your issue... not mine.
I want fire - not ice.
These days, I feel worse about the next heart going into the jar than my own. I guess that says something.
