Last week, Mumford and Sons played three nights at the Ryman Auditorium here in Nashville. I had managed to grab two tickets to the last show on Thursday night for the Boy's birthday. We were both pretty ecstatic I got them, especially when we heard how many people were said that they sold out so fast.
It turns out, the band was only playing Nashville and NYC on the US part of their tour. We were definitely pretty lucky.
So on a stormy Thursday evening, we made our way downtown and braved the rain, traffic, and Preds fans to grab some food at Broadway Brewhouse (and watch the start of the Preds game). Then we made our way over to the Ryman in time to see Dawes open.
There is not a bad seat in the Ryman, and I liked our seats in the balcony. We danced. We sang along. And we agreed it was one of the best concerts that we had each ever seen.
They did a song or two unplugged... totally awesome.
We all got pretty excited when the twinkle lights came on for "Little Lion Man."
They did about five new songs throughout the evening and promised a new album will be coming out soon. We also got a really long encore, so we saw them play for a little over 2 hours.
We definitely had a blast! It's always fun for me to find the perfect gift for someone, and it was even more fun that we got to enjoy the evening together.
