New Music

I've been trying to catch up on some posts about fun things I've done this summer (in case you haven't been able to tell over the past few posts that are about things that happened like 2 months ago, haha).

But I must take a break from that to tell you that I've been listening non-stop to two new albums - Dave Matthews Band's Away From the World and Mumford and Sons' Babel.

Both are good.  Like stupid good.  I have always been a bit DMB fan, and this album has a sound that is reminiscent of some of their older stuff, but still has a newness and freshness to it.  I heard a fair amount of it live this summer when I went to three shows at The Gorge (that post to come soon), so I had a good idea already that I was going to like this album. Boy was I right.

And as for Mumford and Sons?  Seriously... it's fine if you're not a DMB fan.  I know it's not for everyone.  But everyone should be listening to Mumford.  I have been listening to it over and over, and I have yet to find a song on there that I just don't like or feel the need to skip over.  Amazing grooves.  Amazing lyrics.

Like, I've been daydreaming about how the heck I could plan a Mumford-themed wedding one day when the time comes.  There's just something about the album... it's like I want everything in my life to be like the way it sounds.

Go listen.  Borrow from a friend.  Or the library.  Download it.  Whatever.  Just listen to these albums.
