Get Fit or Get Out

Wow, so I haven't blogged in almost a month.  Oops.

I hope you'll forgive me and that you haven't all dropped me as you've transferred blogs over from Google Reader.

First, there's the wedding planning.  Honestly? It's pretty much done now.  The invitations went out.  All the final details have been planned.  At this point, I just have to pay vendors and do some small things like print the programs, write the timeline for the whole day to send to everyone, and show up.

There's also been some fun stuff like my first shower and my bachelorette party.  I should share some pictures from both soon, so please come back for those!

Then there's this whole thing where I'm becoming a stepmom so I have a 5-year-old with me a fair bit.  That part is pretty fun as well.  He is such a blessing in my life, and I love him so much!  We have a blast when he's with us.  We took him to the Indianapolis Zoo over Father's Day weekend, and during our time with him this week we've done science projects, gone to the library to pick out some books and movies to enjoy, and went to Monkey Joe's (a play with lots of bounce houses that would make a killing if they'd start selling alcohol to all the parents just sitting around while kids jump around like monkeys.)  Tomorrow we're going to the pool!

Oh, and I'm truly busting my butt to "get fit or get out" as Shaun T likes to say.  I've been doing Insanity again for about a month.  I'll be honest - I only do it 3-4 days per week instead of the 6 it says to do (I mean, did you read what all else I've been up to?)  Adam and I also bought bikes, so we try to do 2-3 bike rides per week when he gets home from work with at least one of them being a little longer.  We also run a couple of times a week, though I'll admit it's never more than 2 miles.

Still.  We're also eating healthier... which in many ways just means that we're eating smaller portions.

It's definitely helping.  I am feeling much better about how I feel, and I'm toning up a bit so that I look great in that wedding gown!

And speaking of work... I do still do that.

So yea.  I know lots of people are busy.  I'm certainly not discrediting that, but my busyness has meant that blogging has sort of fallen to the bottom of the list.

But I am signed up for a couple of half marathons in the fall, and I've even convinced Adam to run his first half with me!  So we'll start picking up the miles after we get back from the honeymoon!

Life is good.  It certainly still has it ups and downs, but I really don't have any complaints.  I love my boys (Adam and CJ and Tucker, the cat), I have amazing friends and family who are making this whole engagement and wedding experience amazing, and at the end of the day I do have my health and the ability to work out and whip myself back into shape.  Life is good.
