Our Wedding - Getting Ready

We left off on the wedding posts with the rehearsal dinner...

On Friday, August 9th, 2013 I woke up excited for the big day!  My sister drove us to The Mill at Lebanon where we met up with the other girls to start getting ready. (We may have made a quick stop to get some coffee on our way!)

It's amazing how fast the morning went by... once I had quick meetings with our photographers and videographers, they set up and started recording the day.  I am so glad we had both of them there all day from start to finish!

My hair stylist did my hair first, and all of us girls enjoyed fruit, chicken minis and mimosas for breakfast!  As the other gals cycled through getting their hair done, I eventually did my make up and my interview with the video folks. My sister had also made me a scrapbook of all of the wedding showers and my bachelorette party, and she had a lot of my friends write notes that she put on the pages.  It was so sweet and definitely a fun little gift to receive before the wedding.

We had some pizza for lunch (before getting dressed, of course!) and also enjoyed relaxing and talking and laughing.  Before I knew it, it was time to get into the dress and start putting on the final touches before the first look.

I am so glad that we were able to be at the same venue all day.  While we were in the suite getting the girls ready, the boys showed up around lunch time to eat and get ready in the other building.  It was so fun to know my groom was close by and getting excited to see me.

Here are some of my favorite photos from getting ready and the various accessories!  All are thanks to our amazing photographers Mike and Mike of Brown Lab Photography. (Seriously, those two are the most fun ever, and I can't recommend them enough!)

Next post: The First Look! By the time I was in the dress, I was definitely starting to feel the nervous excitement of knowing we were about to really get the party started!

The above picture merits a little background.  My mom removed one of the appliques from her wedding gown (from 1977) and sewed it on the bottom layer of my gown.  It was a way to achieve my "something old" as well as feel like I had a piece of her gown (speaking of, I need to post the picture of me wearing her gown sometime... I never had any plans to try to wear it, but I put it on one night shortly before the wedding for kicks and giggles.)
