On Saturday, we ate donuts and spent the afternoon swimming.
Then, we joined Gram, Nana, Papa and Meredith for a yummy birthday dinner at Maggiano's.
After dinner, we went to see the new Ninja Turtles movie. In some ways, it was for Connor, but in some ways it was also because Adam has loved TMNT since he was little! (I'm just proud that I can name the turtles according to the color of their masks!)
On Sunday, we headed to the Nashville Zoo. We decided to get a membership for the year, and we thought it'd be a fun way to further celebrate the birthday. Plus, it was Nashville Predators day!
None of the kangaroos walked up to us, but they were still neat to see!
We enjoyed watching the elephants for a while.
Daddy helped show little man how to play the hockey game.
Connor was excited to meet Gnash! We can't wait to take him to a game this season.
It was also neat checking out some of the birds.
While Adam watched a little football when we got home from the zoo, Connor and I were hard at work on some "secret projects." It's so cute how excited he gets when we have a secret just between us, plus it's really fun for me! In this case, we were working on the birthday card that CJ picked out to give Adam with his gift. He really likes all the stamps I have, and he had fun writing a special message.
We wanted to make the most of the birthday cake we had ordered, so we went on and decorated the dining room with streamers and birthday hats and surprised Daddy with his cake!
I know you can't see Adam's face in this one, but I LOVE the look on Connor's face as he looks up to Daddy. I'm so glad he loves me, but Daddy definitely hung the moon in his book!
We had sort of a quiet evening on Monday, but on Tuesday we hit up the pool again! (We definitely wanted to make the most of the warm weather and the pool still being open while we could!)
After cleaning up, Gram joined us to go to a yummy place we've discovered near our home that is a meat and three - so yummy! Once we got home, we opened presents! Connor was so proud to give Adam the glasses he picked out for him. I had told him Daddy wanted to find some nice glasses that were short, and he did such a good job picking some that he would like!
Everyone also got a kick out of the incredibly long card that I picked out for Adam.
After presents, there was more cake of course!
Wednesday morning, I dropped little man off at school for the third morning in a row. I have to say, it is flat out adorable giving him hugs in the morning and watching him walk into the school building!
We had a great time celebrating Daddy with a lot of different fun ways to spend time together as a family! Next year is his big 3-0, so I'm already starting to brainstorm about how to make it super special!
