My actual birthday fell on a Friday the 13th, just like when I was born. I always love when that happens. We had Connor for the weekend, so I decided that was a good night for a family birthday dinner. My parents and sister came over so we could go eat at our favorite mexican restaurant.
I always like getting some good family photos on birthdays!
Then we were off to dinner! Apparently, quite a few large parties picked the same restaurant that evening, and we had to wait longer than we ever have before. The manager recognizes us there and kept apologizing. When he found out it was my birthday and we finally got a table, he brought me a specialty margarita for free in addition to the one I ordered. Fun!
After dinner, we went back to the house and opened presents. I received several nice things from Adam and Connor, my sister, and my parents. One of my favorites was a t-shirt quilt my mom made me with my shirts from college. What's really fun is that one of the shirts is one I was wearing the day Adam and I met in 2003!
Later in the weekend, we went to Arrington Vineyards for the afternoon with friends to enjoy some wine, snacks, and a beautiful day! It was so nice to hang out with friends and celebrate a bit more.
Connor enjoyed playing with one of our friends' little girl in particular. They ran around for quite a while, and it was adorable.
We're so thankful for good friends to celebrate special days with - we love these people.
My sister was able to join us as well. Believe it or not, we sometimes don't get to see each other that often so it's always nice to hang out.
It was a really nice birthday, and I'm thankful for another year of life!
